The El Paso Area

Visitors coming to El Paso on business, pleasure trips, or to visit friends and relatives will find that our hotel is a convenient 4 miles from the airport, 10 miles from downtown. An added convenience is our free shuttle transportation to local businesses and attractions within five miles, other than the airport.  You’ll wake up in a comfortable guest room or suite to start off your day with our free Bright Side Breakfast® served hot or cold with your choice of items including cereals, yogurt, and waffles. El Paso Convention Center, University of Texas - El Paso, and Fort Bliss are 10 to 11 miles away, as is the Mexico border. Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino and UT’s Sun Bowl Stadium are 15-18 miles away.

El Paso is located on the Rio Grande in the triangle where the western border of Texas converges with New Mexico and Mexico borders. There’s a unique blend of cowboy, Native American, and Mexican traditions. The city is spread out over a large area, surrounded by desert and the Franklin Mountains, with the largest urban park in the nation. Surprisingly, the city’s elevation is two-thirds of a mile high, and the time zone, Mountain, is an hour different from most of Texas. El Paso is a military town; the largest employer is Fort Bliss, one of the nation’s largest bases.  Several cultural and historical attractions, fiestas and music festivals, plus the convention center, are located downtown.
